Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and a businesswoman. She is a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is a philanthropist, author television host, and proprietor of the online, independent news magazine The Huffington Post. Born in Greece then moved to England at age 16. In Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA of Economics. In her 21st year, she was the president of the renowned debating society The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign born student to do so. After when she graduated, she was an important conservative journalist who was syndicated. A few more years later, she founded The Huffington Post which featured criticism of the present politics. Her site was able to bring in several prominent contributors who posted their thoughts on culture and politics. Arianna became famous after she made the decision in 2003 to candidly run as an independent candidate for the California Recall Election, to succeed Governor Davis. Also, she was the head of an Detroit initiative to make cars more fuel efficient. In 2009 she was named by Forbes as the most influential women in media. She was ranked 12th position in the list and in the same year Guardian placed her in their top 100 media list. In the year 2011, AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post and made the president of that media company, which also included a number of existing AOL properties too such as Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. Her parents were Elli as well as Konstantinos Stasinopoulos. They were a management advisor and journalist. Although she was close with her father it was her bond with her mother that formed her entire life. Even during her formative period, she displayed abilities to lead, and for this are still in high demand. After the 16th year of her life she started her studies within England in the United Kingdom at Girton College Cambridge. In the years of her university she was part of the Cambridge Union debating group where she was elected the first female president and only foreign president. In 1972, she graduated with a Master's Degree in Economics. She worked as a music critic television host, and a columnist after her graduation. She also appeared with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started making books with his assistance in editing.
